Quality Pets of California

Established in 1991, Quality Pets of California, Inc. opened its location in Gardena, California, a suburb of Los Angeles to distribute tropical fish, small animals, birds and reptiles. They immediately teamed with Poseidon Aquatics, Inc. a top tropical fish facility, which was founded in 1980.

In December 1999, Quality Pets of California, Inc. purchased Poseidon Aquatics, Inc. and as of today, they have grown into one of the largest wholesale distributors of aquarium fish, small animals, birds, reptiles, and supplies. They now occupy 20,000 square feet of space and import from over fifteen countries. They are a full service, USDA inspected facility, with a company owned fleet of 24 climate-controlled trucks, delivering the next day to the retail trade in five states and shipping to customers around the world.

“I’ve been employed with Quality Pets of California since 1991 and I have been in the pet industry since 1981 starting as a dog and cat bather in a family owned Pet & Grooming shop. I later managed the shop and was the head groomer from the age of 17 to 20. I also bred and showed Abyssinian show cats and produced 3 grand champions of show. Throughout the years I have kept many varieties of fish and have successfully bred Angels, Discus and Rainbows. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, working with computers and watching sports.”

I have been employed with Quality Pets of California since 1995 .My duties include taking orders from stores and managing the companies fleet of vehicles.I have been a fish hobbyist most  of my life so I enjoy being in this kind of environment.
