I love fish, but my passion is reptiles. Beginning at 4 years old, I was interacting with my parents’ pet king snake. Five years later I was a first time owner of a Ball Python named Monty. Through the years, I have owned tons of different reptiles. This experience was the catalysis that motivated me to gain more knowledge of different species and capable to breed my own baby critters. While attending college I spent 4 years managing a chain pet store. This insight gave me retail experience in the pet industry as well as the common husbandry practices for an array of animals.
I am coming up on my first year anniversary at Poseidon Aquatics, Inc. I have been a sales Representative as well as a Buyer for the Reptile Department. By expanding our reptile sources, we now offer a wider selection of reptiles for your store. So the next time you want to know about reptiles just ask me, “What’s hot in the reptile room?”

I was born in El Salvador, Central America where I developed a passion for tropical fish starting at the age of 8. I've been an active hobbyist since then and have worked at Poseidon Aquatics for almost 20 years where I'm known as "The Fish Whisperer" by customers and colleagues. There I also developed a passion for helping customers choose, maintain and market all the interesting species we provide for their stores. My specialty is freshwater fish and my favorite families are cichlids, livebearers and tetras.
I am happily married with 4 awesome children and keep 4 to 6 aquariums at home depending on the season.

Established in 1991, Quality Pets of California, Inc. opened its location in Gardena, California, a suburb of Los Angeles to distribute tropical fish, small animals, birds and reptiles. They immediately teamed with Poseidon Aquatics, Inc. a top tropical fish facility, which was founded in 1980.
In December 1999, Quality Pets of California, Inc. purchased Poseidon Aquatics, Inc.
and as of today, they have grown into one of the largest wholesale distributors of
aquarium fish, small animals, birds, reptiles, and supplies. They now occupy 20,000
square feet of space and import from over fifteen countries. They are a full service,
USDA-
Poseidon Aquatics hired me in 1999 when I was 17 years old. I started out by maintaining tanks and catching fish for our great customer base. After a few months I became a hobbyist myself and I knew that I wanted to know more about the business. Soon enough I became the warehouse supervisor where I learn more about the wide selection of fish we carry as well as the business side of the operation. After a year I had the opportunity to work "The Hot Seat” aka the front desk, this brought the various aspects of our operation together.
Through all of this my father Jose, who is also part of the Poseidon family, has been a tremendous help and it was though Victor’s support I earned a full time position in sales.
Currently, I am on my 12th year with the company and could not have asked for a better experience. I have always been passionate about my job, our fish and keeping our customers happy. I have made some great friends over the years and strive to continue to give them the best service and advice with all of their fish needs. My specialty is customer service and I am always looking forward to making a friend or two.

I have been married 35 years and have two children. I have been a fish hobbyist for about 50 years, professionally for 33 years. In 1978, I owned my own fish store located in Long Beach, CA, called “Paradise Tropical Fish”. From there I worked in the wholesale end of the business. I came to Poseidon Aquatics in 1996 and am in charge of the aquatic filtration systems. I also have my own Aquarium Maintenance Company.

I'm a country girl from West Virginia. I have been in this industry for the past 42 years. In the beginning of my carrier, I spent time in the Everglades with the local flora and fauna, collecting species for export to the Far East. I have worked in every aspect of the wholesale side of our industry. I have traveled to the Far East and South America, visiting collection sites in both areas.
I began my carrier with Poseidon in 1986 initially with the care, feeding and medication of our freshwater fish. Since I was new to this aspect of the industry the owner took me under his wing and taught me how to provide the best care for them. Reading different publications and conversing with the suppliers about their fish gave me additional insight and understanding. This past year I attended the University of Florida’s, Aquaculture Department’s seminar on diseases, prevention and cures. I am currently the operations manager and buyer for the freshwater department.
